ABOUT

ABOKOBI CONSTRUCTED ECOSYSTEM HOUSE,  ACCRA, GHANA

The residence draws its inspiration from the organic patterns of termite trails. Those quiet, intricate paths formed through time and movement in the landscape. This idea informs the building’s form, where walls, circulation paths, and openings follow a flowing logic rather than rigid geometry. Spaces branch and connect much like natural pathways, creating a home that feels discovered rather than imposed. The architecture sits comfortably within its environment, allowing the surrounding terrain and distant mountain views to become an essential part of the experience of the house.

Materiality plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere of the home. Rammed earth plastering gives the walls a rich, tactile surface, revealing subtle layers of color and texture that echo the tones of the surrounding land. Rustic interior finishes, natural wood, textured plaster, and handcrafted elements, reinforce this connection to the earth. These materials are intentionally expressive, allowing the building to age gracefully while creating interiors that feel warm, grounded, and deeply connected to place.
